Our Story

Originally started in 1958 in Newmarket Ontario and has been in the drilling industry ever since. It’s been a family-run business with three generations working side by side, to make a well-diverse corporation willing to take on the challenges of the future. Lone Star Drilling has had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest engineering companies around the globe such as Strabag Inc. on the OPG project in Niagara Falls, Ellis Don, PCL, McNally Eng. and most of the big elevator companies for hydraulic elevator shafts which require a straight hole. We have had the pleasure of drilling air vent shafts and alignment holes throughout Ontario and elevator shafts from coast to coast. Ventilation shafts 36” in diameter 425 feet deep in the rock and countless 12” holes throughout Niagara Falls for the Sir Adam Bec Tunnel, Strabag Inc. Tunnel alignment holes for the 410 Hwy project, 20” casing into rock to the tunnel. Greater Sudbury Sewer drop holes lined with 12” stainless steel pipe. We have drilled access holes along Lakeshore in Toronto ranging from 48” to 72” in diameter to a depth of 160 ft. into the tunnel. These are just some of the projects that have required perfectly straight holes with very minimal room for being out of plum. Any further information that you require, please do not hesitate to call our office and speak to Steven Moore our Driller / Estimator who has worked on all these projects. Lone Star Drilling.
